Using water pressure, this forces a solvent through a filter which then retains the solute on one side of the OS unit allowing the clean water to pass through the other side.

REVERSE (RO)

RO is the preferred water treatment method for combination and steam oven applications and also helps to provide a hand polished finish to glassware, cutlery and crockery from the glass or dishwasher.

REVERSE OSMOSIS removes 97% or more of all dissolved materials, including hardness minerals and chlorides, from the water supply. If these dissolved materials are not removed they can cause significant corrosion and/or scale build-up within the oven.

OSMOSIS

Osmosis is the natural process by which plants and trees take up water and nutrients from the soil around their root systems. When solutions of different concentrations are separated by a semi-permeable membrane – which will only allow the passage of water and not the dissolved solids – water will naturally pass from the dilute solution to the more concentrated, in order to make the solution strengths equal. This phenomenon is called OSMOSIS. Osmosis can be reversed by applying pressure to the more concentrated solution, then collecting the pure water which passes through the membrane. This ‘Permeate Water' is virtually free of biological, chemical and dissolved organic substances. This is the principle of REVERSE OSMOSIS.
